Nintendo Switch Tops December US Sales
Nintendo Switch sold more units in December than any other video game system, according to the NPD Group, which tracks video game sales in the United States.

Nintendo Switch records highest gaming console sales in United States in December 2017 as recorded by NDP Group

Nintendo enjoyed a very successful year in 2017. They introduced their new gaming console Nintendo Switch which went on to make record sales over the course of the year.

According to Nintendo, 4.8 million Nintendo Switch units have already been sold since the company released it in March 2017. It is recorded to be one of the top sales numbers for any console sales’ companies in the U.S.

While Xbox One X and PlayStation might have stole some thunder from Nintendo Switch in the middle of the year, it all came down to who finished the strongest.

The holiday season is a very important time for sales for any company. NDP Group that tracks that sales of gaming consoles released their numbers and it was recorded that 1.5 million Nintendo Switch units were sold in the month of December.

These numbers make Nintendo Switch the highest selling gaming console in the U.S. The successful sales number are not limited to Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo 3DS also sold 750,000 units in December. In addition, Super NES Classic contributed to 2.6 million Nintendo gaming console units sold in the month of December collectively.

The gaming consoles were not the only hotsellers for Nintendo. Four Nintendo Switch games rated high on the December sales charts.

Among the bestselling games were Super Mario Odyssey (No. 3), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (No. 4), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (No. 9) and Splatoon 2 (No. 16).
