Super Bowl 52 is over, but the next big event in Sports is about to go down.

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 2018 will be released this week. The release date of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2018 edition, cover, digital release and print release is on Tuesday, Feb. 13. The release of the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition happens one day before Valentine's Day. Last year, the release was on Valentine's Day.

Update: The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2018 Edition is released. The Swimsuit 2018 cover model is Danielle Herrington.

To get an idea how big of a pop culture event the release of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition is, we just need to glimpse at the stunning online visits SI saw last year. Over the first 24 hours of the release of the swimsuit model photos, page views topped 90 million (up 202% year-over-year). The total reached more than 215.7 million page views through launch week. SI videos surpassed 36.5 million views across platforms through the first week.

This year the rookie of the year model is Instagram star Alexis Ren. The 21-year-old model has 11.7 million followers on Instagram, which so high that it will even make difference for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 2018.

If Ren makes the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2018 cover would be a big surprise. The models confirmed for the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition include Kate Upton, Vita Sidorkina, Bianca Balti, Raven Lyn, Paige Spiranac, Paulina Porizkova, Genie Bouchard, Olivia Culpo, Allie Ayers, Myla Dalbesio, Camille Kostek, Sloane Stephens, Ebonee Davis, Anne De Paula, Barbara Palvin, Chase Carter, Robin Holzken, Danielle Herrington, Hailey Clauson, Sailor Brinkley Cook, Georgia Gibbs, Kate Wasley, Brenna Huckaby, Aly Raisman, Camille Kostek, Olivia Culpo, Iyonna Fairbanks, Olivia Jordan, Tabria Majors, Ashley Graham, Kate Bock, Robyn Lawley, Hunter McGrady, Samantha Hoopes, and Lais Riberio.

The locations for the swimsuit shoots include The Bahamas, Aruba, Belize and Nevis.

How and when Sports Illustrated will reveal the cover of the SI Swimsuit edition is kept under wraps so far. In the past, the magazine used late night shows for the reveal. Also not announced yet are the popular Sports Illustrated Swimsuit events, where fans can meet the swimsuit models featured in the special edition of SI magazine.

Updates about SI Swim 2018:

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor MJ Day has an answer to the #meToo movement in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition 2018. "In Her Own Words is a continuation and evolution of the essence of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit." Models strip down completely to become the vessel for the things and messages they stand for. The empowering shoot is supposed to counterbalance the usual sexy Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition photos and videos.

Does it work? The conversation has started and that's good no matter how people think about the "In Her Own Words" spread. The nude models in the SI Swimsuit 2018 edition include Paulina Porizkova, Sailor Brinkley Cook and Robyn Lawley.
