Cuddly AR Baby Panda Comes to Live on Playmat

A toy startup combines AR with a playmat.

At the International Toy Fair 2018 in Nuremberg, I spotted a super cute baby panda called Bino. Bino comes to live through Augmented reality. The creators combined a playmat with an AR app to give the youngest kids a virtual friend.

Bino the baby panda, teaches toddlers how to brush teeth, wash hands and use the potty. The Panda can also help young kids to learn to tell the time, learn the alphabet and learn basic math.

Augmented Reality is a huge trend in toys since the last two years. This year we also see AR toys for very young kids. We already featured the Shifu Minglings.

Watch the cute AR baby Panda in action in the video below. German toy startup Mabino is currently in the process of rolling out AR Playmat and find distribution partners.

The number of augmented reality apps is exploding. The leading AR development platform boasts more than 425,000 registered developers and has powered over 50,000 apps with more than 525 million app installs worldwide.
