Kobotix Real Racer Enable POV R/C Toy Car Racing

Put yourself in the tiny driver seat of a remote-controlled race car with Kobotix.

I tested the Kobotix Real Racer camera r/c toy car at the International Toy Fair 2018 in Nuremberg. The Hong Kong based toy startup had set up a small race track. After putting on the video headset I was immersed in that race track on the ground. Driving around felt like being in a video game. The pixelation turns the real world into a car racing video game.

We have video cameras on drones since a long time. Cameras in remote controlled is a relatively new thing. As reported earlier, Carrera will introduce a Camera car for Carrera slot tracks this fall. The Kobotix R/C car has the advantage to drive anywhere. There are no tracks needed, which opens many ways kids can play with these toy racers.

Features of the Kobotix Real Racer cars include speeds up to 30 km/h (18.6 mph), 30 meters (98.4 feet) range,20 mins play time from a single charge and 2.4 Ghz wireless connection. The low-latency driver's view video stream has a 720p resolution.

The remote-controlled car connects to the iOS and Android Real Racer app for the video feed. Watch the video below to get an idea of the Kobotix Real Racer experience.

The Kobotix Real Racer camera cars are not on the market yet. Price will be around $130. A release date is not set.
