Vauxhall and Opel Will Launch Their First EV Vauxhall Corsa in 2019

The Vauxhall Corsa EV, which will be the first EV by PSA Group owned Vauxhall and Opel companies, will Make its Debut Sometime Next Year

Vauxhall and Opel have made an announcement regarding a Corsa EV which will be showcased in 2019. A trio of EVs will also debut close to the launch of this vehicle.

The two brands have collaborated on this topselling vehicle. As for the production schedule of this car, it will be set in the Zaragoza plant in Spain.

The Corsa EV is part and parcel of the wider scheme followed by Vauxhall and Opel, according to AutoCar. Electrification is the watchword here. By the time the year 2024 comes ambling along, every single model from these brands will be electrified.

The companies are also planning on a plug-in hybrid Grandland X. What lies next for the Corsa of the future is the same fate which exists for the Peugeot 208 and the Citroen C3.

The zero emission model is the goal for the long term future. Both companies will be raking in the profits four years from now though. In the second quarter of 2017, losses worth 190 million pounds were incurred.

The Zaragoza plant has been in the business of making Corsas since the 80s. Among some of its other products are such vehicles as the Mokka X, the Crossland X and the Citroen C3 Aircross.
