The new 911 might just have leaked on Instagram.

A German Instagram user has posted a photo of a yellow Porsche 911 that looks different from the current model (911.2). It could be the first photo of the new 992 series. The photo shows only the rear, featuring new lines and a light stripe design similar to the Panamera. The Porsche letters seem to be placed on the light stripe.

The photo appears to be taken at car repair shop in Augsburg, Germany. The photo of the potential 992 was posted by @ninastegmaier. She has taken down the photo, but it's already everywhere on the web and social media. This account is not a typical car leaker. The posts are usually about Nina's lifestyle.

There are no details about why Porsche would let an undisguised 911 stop at a car shop. If you look closely at the top area of the photo (see full photo below), you can see the front of the new 911 in the mirrors. It's though too small to make out differences to the current 911. Porsche is expected to release a new Porsche 911 this year. The last update came in 2015 with the 991.2 bringing turbocharged engines across all 911 models, except race editions.

When Porsche will unveil the 2019 Porsche 911 is not known yet. It's also not known which models will get the 992 treatment at launch.
