Tesla Model X P100D Breaks World Record by Engaging a Jeep Trackhawk in a Drag Race

The Tesla Model X is the fastest SUV on the planet. It covered a one fourth mile distance recently in 11.281 seconds flat at 118.37 mph. This breaks an erstwhile record.

This SUV has 920 feet pounds of torque. The vehicle recently thumbed its nose at a $530,000 supercar in a drag race. Model X engaged in the race with a Jeep Trackhawk on Florida’s Palm Beach.

With 707 hp from its V8 Hellcat motor, the vehicle thus raced against a similar car and snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Tesla’s SUV had a weight of 5700 pounds. As for the Jeep, it clocked in at 5500 pounds which was not bad either.

Although the result of the drag race was pretty obvious right from the start, still Tesla’s SUV had to give it all it had in terms of aggro and drive.

Tesla’s vehicles can give good short-term accelarative force and they also are able to change gears along the way. In the year 2020, Tesla’s tri-electric motor Roadster will show the world what it has in the way of performance. Till then the Tesla X remains top cat in terms of power and speed.
