Vero is Still Free for Life

Hyped Instagram killer is handing out free memberships.

The first million users of Vero will never have to pay for the ad-free Instagram alternative. The social media app is around since 2015, but has been suddenly gaining momentum in a big way. Vero is suffering outages and because of the sudden popularity.

Vero is the top free app on iTunes right now. I just signed up with several error messages about lost connections, but it worked. I got a confirmation email that I'm one of the first million users who will get Vero free for life. Vero, founded by in 2015 by billionaire Ayman Hariri, son of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, does not make money yet.

Hariri launched Vero because of the privacy policies of advertising based social networks like Instagram. Eventually,Vero will need to make money to cover expenses. The plan is to launch a very low annual subscription fee. It's not clear why Vero is now the hottest thing right now. Some say its because of the ranking changes in Instagram. Vero offers a straightforward reverse-chronological feed.

With Vero you can share different things including photos, videos, links, music, books, movies and places. It's basically as flexible as Facebook. The user interface looks neat. You can invite your friends like on any other social network. You can find us on Vero by searching for i4u.

The Vero app is available for download on iTunes and on Google Play. For the sign-up you need a mobile phone number. Vero sends you a code via text message or calls you in case messaging fails. In my case I got a call from a robot telling me the four-digit code.
