Hearthstone Gets In-Game Tournaments for The Year of the Raven

Hearthstone celebrates the Year of the Raven while some of the features are going to be pulled back including the Ice Block card

Hearthstone is celebrating the Year of Raven. The turn of the year is determined by the zodiac constellations twinkling in Azeroth’s night sky. Hearthstone is bidding farewell to the Year of the Mammoth and ushering in the new year.

Now, as Hearthstone fans know, and fresh players might be finding out soon, Hearthstone introduced the New Way to Play format. In this format, there are three decks for players to play with the help of.

These decks are known as Basic, Classic and Standard. Each player, whether experienced or fresh; will have Basic and Classic deck in which they will have a standardized set of cards.

However, the Standard deck is continuously changing and updated as the year passes by. That means that as the Year of the Raven is starting, and the Year of the Mammoth is coming to an end.

The feature cards that were available to players in the Year of the Mammoth including Molten Giant, Midnight Oracle and Ice Block. They are being reverted to the pre-nerf stats. The players will be completing challenges to get these cards and use them in the gameplay.

The reason behind the withdrawal of the cards is to keep the deck fresh. Game developers and experts have said that they don’t have reservations about the powers of the card.

They took the cards out of play, so they can introduce more cards in the deck. That means that no player is at a disadvantage. On the back of this news, many players would be glad to know that they will be getting to see new cards in the Standard set.

In addition, the players will be able to build their Standard deck with various decks including; Journey to Un’Goro, Knights of the Frozen Throne, Kobolds & Catacombs and first 2018 expansion.
