New Nintendo Switch Hardware Accessories Coming to Lift Sales

The Nintendo Switch console stays the same for the next 12 months.

Unsurprisingly, Nintendo will not change the Nintendo Switch console in the next 12 months. According to Takashi Mochizuki, Wall Street Journal's Japan reporter, Nintendo is planning to release new hardware accessories to push the Nintendo Switch sales in 2018. There will be no Nintendo Switch 2.0 in the foreseeable future. Your investment in the Switch is safe at least for the next 12 months.

Nintendo's ticket back into success is now one year on the market. Nintendo is set to sell 17 million Nintendo Switch consoles by March 31, 2018. This is way more than initially expected. Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima plans sell more than 20 million units in the new fiscal year that begins April 1.

The company is working on optimizations of the Switch manufacturing process, but will not change the hardware. Nintendo is supposed to release new hardware accessories that go beyond the upcoming Nintendo Labo. Takashi Mochizuki sources claim that Nintendo will bring network-related features and peripherals to be attached to its USB Type-C port.
