Nintendo shuts down the user review feature on the Nintendo Switch after a few days of launch citing it as a test run

Nintendo Switch is improving day by day. Nintendo is adding features to the gaming console software and mainframe everyday to make for a better gaming experience. Not to mention the great amount of games that are being announced everyday to come to Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo recently underwent a mainframe maintenance session. After that, a user review for the games was quietly added to Nintendo Switch. Users could submit their reviews about the game in this feature and submit it. It would make for an overall evaluation.

As silently as it had been added, Nintendo pulled back the user review feature. The explanation for the retraction was given on the official website of Nintendo.

They stated that they had only added it for a test run. It was like a trial in which they could assess whether the feature would work or not. They thanked the Nintendo Switch users for participating and submitting their reviews for the games that are available on Nintendo Switch.

The statement on Nintendo website reads: "Customer reviews have been taken offline as we evaluate this feature and its functionality. We currently have no estimated date on when an update will be provided. We appreciate the positive response and thank the reviewers who provided such thoughtful commentary on the games."

According to experts, Nintendo pulled back the feature in the anticipation of “review bombing”-a collective review submission by users in which they give bad review intentionally to affect the game.

In another speculation, experts believe that the feature might not have worked as well as Nintendo had hoped for and they pulled it back to make improvements.

Whether the feature would be reinstated or not, is not known. Nintendo has made no formal statements about the feature coming back.

If Nintendo has retracted it for making improvements, then we can expect to see the feature coming back. With more games coming to Nintendo, a review section might actually be an improvement for Nintendo Switch.
