Drone n Base Combines AR with Toy Drones for Racing and Games

Drone n Base takes toy drones to the next level.

There are myriads of toy drones on the market. It's difficult for a drone maker to stand out. DronenGames, based in the Slovak Republic, has found an interesting way. Drone n Base combines augmented reality with drones. You can play virtual battles. While flying the drone you shoot down virtual enemies you see on the Drone n Base app.

You can also setup drone races using the bases. These bases can be set to have different power-ups like in a video game. If you fly your drone over it you can boost speed or if its a freeze base, your drone slows down. This is a very cool idea to bring something you know from games like Mario Kart to the real world.

The mini drones are easy to fly using multiple sensors. The drones are also supposed to be very robust. You get a lifetime warranty on all plastic parts of the drone.

A Drone n Base set containing a drone and a base retails for $150. A US shop is selling the Drone n Base set online at amazon.com. You can also order directly from the Drone n Base site.
