Nintendo Switch is Not Getting a New Version in 2018
  • Nintendo Switch Won't Get 2.0 Version This Year

Nintendo is not releasing Nintendo Switch 2.0 version this year and they will hold out till later

One of the typical phenomenon in modern tech industry is the abundance of the new models of the tech products. Each other, tech companies outdo themselves by brining a newer model of their gadgets in the market.

That is the case for cars, computers, cell phones and gaming consoles. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One X were the big new versions from Sony and Microsoft this year. They were outsold however by one console, Nintendo Switch.

The portable console sold 14.86 million units following its release. It has been a year this month and Nintendo fans across the world are anticipating whether Nintendo Switch will be getting a new and improved version of their new favorite gaming console.

According to a report by WSJ, it’s not happening. Nintendo is not planning to release a 2.0 version of Nintendo Switch. Nintendo is instead turning their attention to strengthening the online features and they will be offering more peripherals to boost sales.

Nintendo Labo is one of the prime examples why Nintendo believe that offering peripherals and online services will be a better option for the company to make the sales of the original gaming console sore high.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima has already highlighted that they want Nintendo Switch in every person’s hands. Every person in a home should buy a Nintendo Switch, he said, not just a unit per household.

He said that life of the Nintendo Switch gaming console is more than the previous gaming consoles from Nintendo including, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, and 3DS. In conclusion, a newer version of Nintendo Switch is not going to release anytime soon.
