  • Nimbus Data launches the world’s largest solid state drive of 100 terabytes

Biggest SSD in the Global Village has 100 Terabytes of Data Storage. ExaDrive DC100 samples are now available for strategic customers and it will be generally available in summer 2018.

The world has a new candidate for largest number of terabytes. This happens to be the biggest SSD. Termed the Nimbus Data ExaDrive DC 100, it is a novel large-sized drive that is at present being road tested with the clientele.

“As flash memory prices decline, capacity, energy efficiency, and density will become the critical drivers of cost reduction and competitive advantage,” stated Thomas Isakovich, CEO and founder of Nimbus Data.

“The ExaDrive DC100 meets these challenges for both data center and edge applications, offering unmatched capacity in an ultra-low power design.”

It will be available for buyers this summer. This gadget will employ 3D NAND flash memory. What this means is that 20,000 HD movies and 20 million songs can be stored in it with ease.

The device can read and write at a quickness amounting to 500 MB/s. Nimbus Data lends a rock solid guarantee of five years for this device.

For those institutions whose drive has squeaked its last dying electronic breath, they can easily get this drive this summer. After Samsung’s debut of its drive, this rival took over as the next best thing on the market.

As far as data centers are concerned, they could actually hold 100 petabytes of information. There is the cost to boot.

When the drive comes out this summer, it will have a price tag that will be tens of thousands of dollars. This should be enough to give those head honchos of large firms some pause for thought before they purchase this drive.
