Volkswagen ID R Electric Racer Revealed Before 2018 Pikes Peak Debut

VW ID R EV undergoes Debut before 2018 Pikes Peak Journey

VW has teased the public regarding its four wheel drive EV prototype. This baby will drive on Pikes Peak sometime in June. Titled the ID lR EV, the car was meant for some rough and tough driving on the open road.

Containing a modern electric drive system, this vehicle will spearhead the movement for a series of cars that will be manufactured in VW’s Zwickau factory next year. Many computerized images of the car were released for public consumption by the company recently.

The car has an aerodynamic look along with a large front splitter. A central fin covers the back side. This vehicle sure has a humongous rear wing. These images show the car in its original spirit and VW has confirmed that it will get this thing on wheels ready for Pikes Peak.

The ID group of vehicles will shine with radiance and brilliance. At least, this is the claim made by VW and VW is not one to backtrack on its statements.

Pikes Peak has a great deal of meaning for car fans. Innovation as regards battery power is another specialty of this vehicle. The Pikes Peak journey will be called the Race to the Clouds when it occurs towards the end of 2018.

It happens to be the latest motorsport drive by VW. The date set for the climb up Pikes Peak is June 24th and the venue is the outdoorsy state of Colorado.

The identity of these cars that VW is going to churn out is one and the same. They share the design philosophy and will be EVs. By the time 2025 ambles along, VW will have a fleet of 20 EVs of this kind in tiptop condition. All that will be lacking is the “drivers wanted” part of the equation.
