iOS Latest Update Makes iPhone 8 Third-Party Screen Replacements Unresponsive

Things don’t always work as planned and Apple’s latest update seems to vouch for this statement more than anything else right now. Time and again, Apple rolls out its updates for the beloved iOS for which the users are waiting impatiently as they are expected to get some new functions and get rid of annoying bugs. However, this isn’t always the case and things don’t work so smooth in the real world.

This happened with the latest iOS update which made iPhone 7 devices inaccessible through the Touch ID. The problem seemed to have occurred only in devices which had received screen replacements from vendors other than authorized Apple stores. The same problem seems to have occurred and users are complaining after the iOS 11.3 installation which is making it impossible to access displays on iPhone 8 devices.

The root cause of the problem seems to be the same; all users complaining to such shortcomings in the new iOS update have had their screen replacements done through third parties. These replaced displays show issues as touch inputs are not accepted. Digging in further, it has been concluded that there must be some compatibility issue with a custom chip which easily recognizes whether the replacement screen is an authentic Apple spare part or not.

This was the same theory which revolved around the similar case which occurred last year related to iPhone 7 devices. In line with this reason, repair shops have been suggesting that replacing camera parts in a similar manner can prevent the Face ID from working on iPhone X. So there seems to be only one way around this problem; if your Apple device needs a repair, it is best to get it done from an authorized Apple repair store.
