Apple's Premium News & Magazine Subscription To Start By Year End

As per the recent reports from Bloomberg, Apple is not far away from launching its own subscription news and magazine service right after acquiring Texture. According to the report, the service is going to be a paid subscription and it will offer content and magazines from a number of different publishers.

Apple is going to have a redesigned Apple News app which will help users access this content and users will find it quite similar to what they get on Apple Music.

“An upgraded Apple News app with the subscription offering is expected to launch within the next year, and a slice of the subscription revenue will go to magazine publishers that are part of the program, the people said. They asked not to be identified discussing private plans. Apple declined to comment.”

Apple is already offering subscriptions to news and magazines via the News app and these are individually accessed with publication-by-publication basis. However, this new way takes a different approach and it will be an all-you-can-eat solution that will see revenue split with content partners in a similar way to existing subscription models such as the Texture service that Apple bought.

From reports coming out of Bloomberg it has been confirmed that Apple is working day in day out to bring Texture under its wing and around 20 employees have had to let go off their jobs in the same process.
