BitSummit reveals that they will be featuring amazing 80 Indie games at the event this year

More than 80 games are coming to this year’s BitSummit event in Kyoto, Japan, the group announced this week.

The BitSummit has announced that they will be revealing 18 indie games this year. The BitSummit event will be happening during the weekend on May 12th and May 13th in Miyako Messe convention center in Kyoto, Japan.

Among the highlight titles are, “Chuchel”, “Vane”, “Mare”, and “The Good Life.” The Czech Republic-based Amanita Design developed “Chuchel” while “The Last Guardian” former artist Rui Guerreiro created both “Vane” and “Mare”. Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro is the creator of “The Good Life”.

Nintendo Switch highlights include colour-based puzzle game “She Remembered Caterpillars” and “Above”. The two other major indie games are “Samurai Jet” and “World for Two”.

James Mielke, the former editor-in-chief of video game website 1up.com, started the BitSummit. The aspiration behind the event was to highlight and celebrate the development of Japanese independent video games.

Each year the show has grown bigger and bigger. Now being sponsored by big companies like the Nintendo, Sony, Oculus, and Microsoft. IGN Japan, Twitch, and Famitsu, the Japanese weekly video game magazine is now serving as the partners for the event.

Indie Megabooth will be organizing the event for a third year in a row this year with the BitSummit team. Megabooth has collaborated with PAX, GDC, BitSummit and 700 game creators to highlight independent games.

If you are planning to attend the event, the tickets are available on the event’s official website. The ticket has been priced at around 2,000 yen. That is about $18.65 (USD). That is the cost for one day pass.

Junior high and high school students can get tickets half the price 1,000 yen which is $9.32 (USD). The event’s official website will be upgrading the notification about the guest speakers and musicians set to speak and perform at the event this year throughout the time leading up to the BitSummit.
