BMW iX3 is a Concept EV that is the Car of the Future

The BMW brand is progressively advancing in bringing all-electric facilities to its vehicles. Its Concept iX3 is such a car that was showcased at the Beijing Auto Show that took place this year.

The Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) is the first one from BMW in its new range of cars. Emission-free vehicles are what the times to come are all about. The BMW company is looking to automated, connected, electrified and services technologies in order to revolutionize its image.

The technologies on board the iX3 include eDrive facilities. An electric motor, transmission and power electronics are available in the context of the car in a new, separate electric drive component.

Also, the batteries are much more potent this time around. The operating area, poundage, packaging space, and flexibility come courtesy of the fresh introduction of new technologies too.

The unparalleled technological expertise of BMW i has also played a prominent role in the development of the fifth-generation electric drive system for BMW iX3.

BMW has a hub of electronics in its vehicles which serve to make them super-sophisticated. The design of the iX3 is such that it is very compact. As for the electric motor, it does not require any rare earths. Thus BMW is not dependent upon access to such materials for its electric motors.

The spare parts for the eDrive components are supplied by German, Chinese and American companies. A pleasurable ride, the iX3 exerts a power output of 200 kW/270 hp.

Towards the front area lies the BMW iBrand. The grille, side skirts, and diffuser lend the main accents to the body of the vehicle. Finally, light alloy wheels exist at the base.

The BMW Brilliance Automotive joint venture will produce the future series-production version of the BMW Concept iX3 in Shenyang, China.
