Ninety7 releases new portable solution for Amazon Echo 2nd Generation.

Ninety7 releases a new battery base that is designed for the Amazon Echo 2nd Generation. The company is already successfully selling the Vaux, the first battery-powered speaker designed for the Amazon Echo Dot.

Update July 10: The Ninety7 Sky Tote Battery base for the Echo 2 ships.

The new Ninety7 Sky portable battery base for the Amazon Echo makes your Echo a wireless and portable device. The Pre-order for the Ninety7 Sky will start May 1st on Ninety7.com for an exclusive pre-order price of $49.95, $10 off retail price of $59.95. Pre-orders are estimated to ship in early June.

Sky provides with its lithium-ion rechargeable battery up to eight unplugged hours of use. This Echo battery base features a carrying handle to maximize ease of portability around the home, as well as 4 LED lights on the front, allowing for a quick and easy gauge on remaining battery life.

To install the Sky battery base you remove Amazon Echo 2’s original factory sleeve and the rubber nub at the base to expose Echo 2 power pins. Ninety7 includes tools for ease of removal. Then you insert the Echo into Sky's battery sleeve.

You can find Ninety7 battery bases for smart speakers from Amazon and Google online at amazon.com.

“With the popularity of voice assistants dominating the market, the need to move beyond the power outlet is becoming more and more desired by consumers,” said Kevin Brennan, CEO & co-founder of Ninety7. “The Amazon Echo 2 is a robust smart speaker with quality audio, and with SKY, you can elevate the experience even further with cordless portability.”
