Air Warrior Thermal Hunter Foam Dart Blaster with Thermal Scope Review
Thermal Hunter

Buzz Bee Toys adds heat seeking scope to foam dart gun, that really works!

You can attack at night with the Air Warrior Thermal Hunter Dart Blaster because of its thermal scope. This dart foam toy rifle is made by Buzz Bee Toys and stands out with its heat-seeking scope. The Air Warrior Thermal Hunter is available exclusively at Target for $24.99.

At first, a heat-seeking device on a foam dart gun sounds like a crazy idea but works surprisingly well. The battery-powered (3 x AA) thermal scope is easy to use. After switching it on, you point it to a surface that has the average temperature in the "war zone." Then you push the "Set" button. That's it the thermal scope is ready for action.

I tested the Air Warrior Thermal Hunter in my office. When I point it on a co-worker, the green dot in the display turns immediately red. Moving away from his body the dot turns green again. The scope is well calibrated as pointing it to a lamp is not triggering the thermal detection. A monitor display is though apparently as warm as a body and the scope gross hair dot turns red.

The unique Heatseeking Scope finds friends up to 60-feet away. The thermal scope helps to find targets at night or out in woods. You need to have a line of sight to a body part to trigger the heat sensor.

This Buzz Bee Toys spring loaded foam dart gun is performing very well. The darts fly as far as specified. There is some serious power in this dart rifle.

The red and black Precisepro darts are made of soft foam with a rubber tip, are accurate and fly about 90 feet. The four blue ones are not as accurate. They tend to bend away at the last meters. Actually hitting a small target requires some training. Aiming lower yields better results in my testing.

The Thermal Hunter can hold 10-darts in the clip. To shoot, you need to pull the slide back and forward once and the pull the trigger. The Air Warriors Thermal Hunter is exclusively available at Target for $24.99 and includes a blaster, stock, heat-seeking scope, rail adapter, clip and 20 Precisepro darts. The dart foam gun with heat seeker is recommended for children 6 years of age and older.

Verdict: The 28-inch long Air Warrior Thermal Hunter is a very well performing foam dart blaster with a unique feature that sets it apart. The low price of $24.99 makes the Thermal Hunter a great dart blaster purchase. The Thermal Hunter is a great alternative to the more popular Nerf guns.
