Devolver Digital will be shedding light on mental health of game developers with the content of new game being developed for SNES and proceeds going to mental health charity Take This

Devolver Digital announced that they are working on a game for SNES. The game will be working towards making the game a platform to address mental health issues among game developers. More so, the proceeds of the game will be going to the charity, Take This.

The game is titled 'Fork Parker's Crunch Out'. It features Devolver Digital's fictional CFO Fork Parker, and the players will take "a ragtag group of game developers from a downtrodden garage studio to a high-rise mega-corporation"Players will play as Parker, while using "questionable motivation tactics" including, "coffee, discipline and shock treatment" to make sure employees stay on schedule.

The game directly addresses the issue that is persistent in game development community. It is called ‘Crunch' or 'Crunch Time'. It usually implies that the developers work overtime to fulfill production deadlines, which is turn leads to their own detriment.

The game is presently available for $49.99. The game has been developed to be distributed on cartridge. The game will come in a box with a printed manual.

The PR gave a cute quip with the line, "that will be inevitably lost by a younger sibling", for the manual. The game release has been limited to 1,000 physical copies. It will also be available from Megacat Studios directly.

All the proceeds of the games will go to Take This. Take This is an institution that has been working to help out employees and their families working in the gaming industry. The organization strives to help them cope with mental health issues and create positive working environments.
