Tough waterproof Camera for Outdoor Imaging.

Panasonic recently launched its new camera in LUMIX TS series, the LUMIX TS7, which is exclusively designed for outdoor activities such as surfing, diving, skiing and snowboarding.

This new camera can handle some very harsh conditions; it is dustproof, waterproof for up to 102 feet, can bear a fall from 6.6 feet (2.01 meters), resist the pressure of around 220 LBF (108.8), can even withstand a freezing temperature of 14-degree Fahrenheit (-10 degrees Celsius).

Another special feature is a built-in 1.17 million dots equivalent electronic LVF (live view finder), users can manually switch between LVF and LCD Screen by using a button; this feature comes pretty handy when a user is shooting in direct sunlight or light is falling from back. It also has a more protruded shutter release; this will certainly make it easier to shoot while wearing gloves.

With 20.4 Megapixel sensor and 4.6x zoom (28-128mm), the new LUMIX TS7 is a major upgrade to its predecessor Lumix FT5 / TS5, which has been discontinued now.

With this camera, you can take 4K videos, using its in-camera editing features you can even obtain an 8 mega-pixel still from the frames of the 4K videos.

With high-sensitivity MOS sensor and advanced imaging engine allows for 10 FPS burst shooting in full resolution (mechanical shuttering), and 5 FPS during continuous auto focus.

By using the intelligent zoom feature in LUMIX TS7 users can virtually increase the zoom to 9.1, which is 4.6x ordinarily. The intelligent resolution technology maintains picture quality even when pictures are taken at 9.1x zoom.

It has a 3.0-inch high resolution (1040k dot) non-touch LCD monitor that covers nearly 100% field of view. The high-quality LCD makes it easier to compose and review before taking a shot.

Although GPS is not present, this camera has Wi-Fi, after the photos are taken, geo-tags can be added to photos using a connected iOS or Android smartphone.

Users can shoot, share and browse through photos in the camera through their tablet or smartphones, to do so the users will need to install Panasonic Image App in their devices.

LUMIXTS7 has Power O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) that protects against camera jitter and stabilizes the shot, a much-needed feature for outdoor, on water, underwater and other sport activities.

It supports both AC/USB Charging; battery life is CIPA-rated and with a single charge, it can take 300 shots. It also has a digital compass and altimeter.

With all these features, this camera certainly stands out and going to be a favorite among outdoor activity enthusiasts; it is available in three different colors – orange, blue and black. Retailing at $440 (around 334.11 Euros) it will give a serious competition to other outdoor cameras. Check Amazon for stock of the Panasonic Lumix TS7,
