Lenovo Mirage Solo with Daydream Stand-alone VR Headset is Back in Stock

The new Lenovo Mirage Solo virtual reality headset is in short supply

Amazon has started to ship out the Lenovo Mirage Solo stand-alone VR headset on May 5. Our records show that shipment has started slow initially, but over the past days more orders have been fulfilled, according to our internal records.

Lenovo has supply issues with the Lenovo Mirage Solo as Amazon had it marked out-of-stock right after the release. Now Amazon is stating that the new stand-alone VR headset is shipping this week on May 18.

Facebook pulled a fast one and beat Lenovo to the market with a stand-alone VR headset. The Oculus Go released last week on May 1. I already got mine on Friday ordering it from Oculus directly to our German office. My first impressions of the Oculus Go are extremely positive. The display is incredible as well as the Oculus user interface. The build quality delivered by Xiaomi is impressive, considering the low $199 price.

The Mirage Solo beats the Oculus Go in tracking. You can scale the room, lean and duck with Lenovo's VR headset. The Oculus Go only offers head tracking but has the support of many more apps and content. The bundled Oculus Go controller is also tracked with 3 degrees, but not position. Lenovo also does not track its controller in 6DOF.

Facebook's Oculus Go is in stock on Amazon.com for $199 and $249 for the 64GB model. For some reason, Amazon has put the Oculus Go in the Video game accessories category and not in the Video Game VR headset category. The Mirage Solo leads the sales chart of VR headsets on Amazon, but the Oculus Go would be on top if Amazon would categorize it correctly.

You can still save on the purchase of the Lenovo Mirage Solo with Amazon's bundle offer. The Lenovo Mirage Solo and Camera bundle is on sale for $649.99 on amazon.com. This deal saves $50 compared to buying the Lenovo Mirage Solo stand-alone headset and the Lenovo VR camera separately.

Lenovo introduced the Mirage Solo at the CES 2018. The Mirage Solo HMD does not need a mobile phone or a PC for virtual reality experiences. Everything is built into the headset.

The Lenovo Mirage Solo with Daydream sells for $399.99. Features of the Lenovo Mirage Solo include Worldsense. You can get up off your chair and truly explore your virtual world, free from external sensors. Duck, dodge, sidestep and leap, just like in real life. the 6DoF tracking is the big difference to the much cheaper new Oculus Go Stand-alone VR headset to be released soon. Debuting a blur-free, low-latency QHD IPS display and a 110˚ field of view, the Lenovo Mirage Solo delivers incredible VR sessions for the most demanding discoverers, offering up to 7 hours on a single charge.

Lenovo Mirage Solo puts Daydream VR’s hundreds of incredible experiences at your fingertips–including YouTube, Netflix and much more. You can access a whole new library of WorldSense-powered experiences, such as Blade Runner: Revelations, which lets you move about and interact with your environment as you search for clues to unravel a Replicant conspiracy.

The Lenovo Mirage Solo is a major milestone for VR headsets. No wires and integrated tracking beat the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive in simplicity and convenience.

The Lenovo Mirage Camera lets you share your once-in-a-lifetime moments with friends, so they can see what you saw with the exact same lifelike clarity, and go through what you experienced first hand. Thanks to two 13MP fisheye cameras to create depth perception synced with 3D native stereoscopic technology.

With 180x180 degree field of capture, all you need to worry about is where to point and shoot. It’s literally impossible to miss, the Mirage VR Camera captures everything your eye can see and more.

With native 4K video and advanced auto-image stabilization, your VR videos and photos have never looked so crisp and immersive. You'll feel like you were actually there. Finally.

Lenovo integrated the Mirage Camera with Google Photos and YouTube. All content can be uploaded to Google Photos and live-streamed on YouTube in VR, thanks to the camera’s built-in Wi-Fi - no smartphone required after the initial account set up. There are no deals yet on the Lenovo Mirage Solo and Amazon is also the only store offering pre-order for Lenovo's new VR gear.
