Elon Musk Presents Boring Company Tunnel Plans Tomorrow

New details about the Boring Company plans will be revealed on May 17,

Last week Elon Musk showed off the almost finished first Boring Company tunnel under Los Angeles. The first passengers are supposed to be able to take the tunnel starting later this year. Musk just took to Twitter announcing a presentation of the Boring Company plans scheduled for Thursday, 7pm PDT in Los Angeles.

There will be an update on the plans of the Boring Company and Musk and his teams take questions. Earlier he posted that the Boring Company Hyperloop will take you from LA city center underground to ocean and spaceport in 10 to 15 minutes.

As reported earlier, Musk needs to get the final regulatory approvals before offering rides to the public. The first rides in the Boring Company tunnel will be free.

Once fully operational, the system will always give priority to pods for pedestrians and cyclists for less than the cost of a bus ticket promises Elon Musk. The tunnel starts at the SpaceX parking lot in Hawthorne and is going towards the Los Angeles airport. Last year Musk talked about a 2 mile proof of concept tunnel. If the Boring company already drilled all of it is not clear. This video shows the current state of the first Boring tunnel.

First Boring Company tunnel under LA almost done! Pending final regulatory approvals, we will be offering free rides to the public in a few months. Super huge thanks to everyone that helped with this project. Strong support from public, elected officials & regulators is critical to success. As mentioned in prior posts, once fully operational (demo system rides will be free), the system will always give priority to pods for pedestrians & cyclists for less than the cost of a bus ticket.

The Boring Company enables cars and passengers to zip through tunnels under LA on sleds to cut through the traffic chaos on the surface.
