New Hypothesis states that Octopuses could Actually be Aliens on Earth

Octopuses are not your standard marine life forms. These eight-limbed animals can edit their own frames. The field of biology has found them to defy its conventional rules of classification.

While evolution depends on beneficial mutations in DNA, the octopus actually has the ability to change its body. This has the scientists thinking that maybe this creature gets its capacity to rebuild its body from some cosmic code with which it arrived on our planet.

Octopuses along with squids and cuttlefish tend to edit their RNA. This is the main differentiating factor. RNA is in many ways like DNA. It replicates and stores the genetic code.

However, there is a slight difference between the two. RNA has a single strand whereas DNA has two. RNA is thus responsible for the creation of proteins in our bodies.

Biologists are now surmising that RNA may actually be an original form of DNA. Some of the earth’s most primitive life forms have RNA as the main storage component for their genetic code.

In case of cephalopods such as squids, up to 60% of the RNA in their brains and nervous systems are edited. Octopuses and cuttlefish show similar tendencies.

This particular ability works in a mysterious way which has not been deciphered by scientists yet. Either temperature ups and downs or memory may play a role in the entire editing game.

However, let it not be forgotten that this blessing is actually a curse in disguise. These creatures don’t evolve much. Since the RNA gets edited in a jiffy, there is no need felt to change the DNA. Evolution thus comes to a halt in the case of these animals.

The panspermia theory states that many of life’s basic building blocks may have reached earth from outer space. The theory that octopus eggs arrived on earth in frozen form over a hundred million years ago is being entertained by biologists today.
