Xbox will be bringing the nostalgia back with a specially designed coin-operated machine for Halo: Fireteam Raven

You have been wondering about what Microsoft has up their sleeves for this year’s E3 event. Well, we have a good idea of what they are doing for Halo. For all the Halo fans and the fans of Xbox, they will be glad to know that there is a very exciting event planned for the attendees.

What is it, you may ask? Microsoft is bringing Halo: Fireteam Raven to the E3. More exciting part is that the game will be contained in a massive, epic, and imposing coin-operated arcade machine. It has been designed and built by Raw Thrills and Play Mechanix in close collaboration with 343 Industries.

The machine is an enormous 130-inch, 4k screen experience and four turret-mounted, multipurpose machine guns. The game is set in the timeframe of Halo: Combat Evolved.

The gameplay allows hot-drops players feet first into the boots of Fireteam Raven which is a group of elite Orbital Drop Shock Troopers (ODST) on the surface of Alpha Halo fighting alongside the Master Chief and the rest of the UNSC as they try desperately to prevent the alien Covenant alliance from taking control of the ancient superweapon.

The machine allows four players to ‘fight Covenant troops, spacecraft, and vehicles, encounter the horrifying “Flood” infestation and save the galaxy in frenetic, explosive combat’. Now take a variety of epic landscapes and encounters in a cooperative experience. It sounds like a Halo adventure like you’ve never experienced before.

Kiki Wolfkill, Head of Halo Transmedia at 343 Industries commented that “We couldn’t be happier to announce this project and have had an absolute blast working with Eugene Jarvis – one of my personal heroes and inspirations - and the wonderful team of talented designers and creators at Raw Thrills.

Arcade games are a wholly different challenge compared to console and PC gaming, and we’ve learned a tremendous amount as we worked with Raw Thrills to make this happen.”
