Tesla Autopilot Manager Joins Lyft's Self-Driving Team

Lyft employs Manager who was Previously working for Tesla Motors

Sameer Qureshi used to be a senior manager at Tesla Motors. However, he is no longer employed at Tesla but has instead shifted his job allegiances with Lyft, according to his LinkedIn profile.

While Tesla Motors representatives have not offered any comments on this move, the spokespersons at Lyft have affirmed it as being a fact. Qureshi happens to now be the director of the self-driving unit at Lyft, according to Electrk.

The position is one of high seniority since, at the Level 5 stage, the cars can be driven without the assistance of any human being. In fact, Level 5 insists that no human being ought to meddle in the operations of the advanced self-driving cars.

Back at Tesla Motors, Qureshi was in charge of the Autopilot software department. All of Tesla’s vehicles and platforms were under his able guidance. He gave one whole year of his talented assistants to Tesla before departing for Lyft recently.

While Qureshi was not one of the top brass, he was among the 4000 talented and highly skilled managers of the EV company. Lyft began its self-driving car program a year ago.

The firm has by now hooked up with another company by the name of Magna to beef up its autonomous driving capabilities. Magna has also in reciprocity made an input of $200 million in Lyft in return for having a piece of the action.
