Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor Price and Details Revealed by Elon Musk

The Tesla Model 3 AWD is the Model 3 you want.

Elon Musk details the new Model 3 AWD option in a series of tweets late Saturday. The Model 3 AWD has a dual motor configuration that will sell fully equipped for $78,000. The dual motor option is a $5,000 upgrade for the Model 3.

"Tesla dual motor means there is a motor in front & a motor in the rear. One is optimized for power & one for the range. Car drives fine even if a motor breaks down. Helps ensure you make it to your destination & don’t get stuck on side of the road in potentially unsafe conditions," explains Musk.

The range is also 310 miles. Takes 4.5s to reach 60mph and top speed is 140 mph. Combined with the performance option the Model 3 AWD reaches does 0-60mph in 3.5s, top speed is 155 mph at the same 310-mile range.

Musk said earlier that driving the Model 3 AWD feels amazing. The Model 3 Dual Motor versions will start shipping in July. Update your orders now. The Model 3 AWD design leaked early this year. The Model 3 base price is $35,000. With the Dual Motor and Performance package the price more than doubles.

Tesla is supposed to be able to make 5,000 Model 3 now per month. I am still sitting on my day 1 Model 3 reservation I made in Munich, Germany an eternity ago.
