Google Is Preparing To Release a Mid-Range Smartphone Powered by Snapdragon 710

Google is hunting down the budget phone market most likely by developing a budget phone from the same Pixel series.

According to the rumor mill, Google is working on a mid-range Pixel smartphone and the plan is to release a cheaper version of Pixel in first quarter of 2019. While the company is all set to reveal Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, its new flagship smartphones later this year, Google is hunting down the budget phone market most likely by developing a budget phone from the same Pixel series.

With reference to the Google’s Nexus series that was relatively cheap and massively popular globally, people are expected to welcome a cheaper version of Pixel with above the line specs. According to the news circulating around, Google is eying to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710, a mid-range smartphone chip that was announced by Qualcomm last week.

According to the sources, the development of this much anticipated mid-budget Pixel phone has already been started in the previous months. While Quandt indicating the hardware development starting only a month ago, it’s not yet confirmed. He isn’t sure if the chip is to be used to build the upcoming mid-range smartphone by Google or it called to build something else.

The hardware details such as cameras and screens size are still unknown and according to Quandt, the phone will relatively launch in the first half of 2019 and will start a new era for Google Pixel. With all of this progress going on, Google is surely depending heavily on the proficiency of HTC, a smartphone business it acquired earlier this year that is known for boasting spectacular mid-range and budget smartphones with specs to die for. The acquired talent is believed to be working on the upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL. Additionally, unlike the predecessors, Android flagships of this year are manufactured by Foxconn.
