Microsoft Announced They Are Doubling Their Game Development Studios

Microsoft showcased 52 Games During Xbox E3 Briefing in Los Angeles.

The E3 2018 kicked off with lots of blockbuster video game announcements. The show just got started, but already many must have 2018 video games have been announced. On June 10, 2018, Microsoft’s Xbox E3 briefing event in Los Angeles was attended by more than 6,000 people from around the world; this made it one of the biggest events ever organized by this leading software company.

Microsoft announced that they are increasing their share in the gaming industry by doubling their game development studios.

"There has never been a more exciting time to be part of the gaming industry, with creators large and small showcasing incredible new games for the more than two billion players around the world," said Phil Spencer, head of Gaming at Microsoft. "At Microsoft, we are committed to empowering gamers to play the games they want, with the people they want, where they want."

Microsoft showcased a total of 52 games during the event, 18 out of them are exclusively available for Xbox One X console, while 15 are premiered worldwide for the first time.

The Initiative, located in California, this one is a fresh game development studio started by Microsoft. It is headed by renowned game designer Darrell Gallagher.

Microsoft will be acquiring Ninja Theory in the coming future, Microsoft said that by combining their own resources and Ninja Theory’s gaming expertise, they will be able to create some of the most stunning games for their fans. Both of these companies have been working together since 2000.

Microsoft has already acquired Playground Games; past partnership between these two companies has already delivered some of the best games in the industry, with their Forza series being one of the most popular racing games in the world. With the new "Forza Horizon 4," they have taken open world gaming experiences to the next level.

"We Happy Few," the brilliant game created by Compulsion Games is releasing on Aug 10, 2018. Impressed by their skills, Microsoft has taken this company under their own wings. This will provide Compulsion Games all the resources and support they will need for developing the next level of futuristic games.

Developed by Undead Labs, "State of Decay" game franchise has millions of fans around the world. Microsoft has already signed a letter of intent to acquire this Seattle based gaming company.

"The original games we create at Microsoft Studios are some of our biggest assets," said Matt Booty, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios. "Our growth strategy is to continue to expand the worlds that players love while developing all-new exclusive games that deepen their engagement with our platform. We are thrilled to welcome five new studios into the Microsoft family. We believe these teams have the collective creative power and operational excellence to deliver the next industry game changers."

Microsoft also announced their Biggest Xbox Sale for the Year 2018, gamers could find huge discounts on hundreds of different games, accessories, Xbox Game Pass and Live Gold subscriptions, plus $50 off ANY Xbox One.

Pre-ordering video games is especially recommendable for the special and collector's editions. These tend to sell out quickly and become hard to find closer to the release of the games.

By far the hottest video game release of E3 2018 so far is Bethesda's Fallout 76. The $199.99 Fallout Collectors Edition (Power Armor Edition) with the wearable helmet from the game is extremely popular.
