Nintendo Switch users have already downloaded Fortnite following its launch. Fortnite Surpasses 125 Million Players.
We knew it was coming and it did. It followed the Nintendo's E3 2018 Direct, Nintendo put up Fortnite on Nintendo eShop, it was downloaded for about 2 million times straight off. Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime was happy to confirm the news.
He said in a statement while attending the E3 2018 that, "At this point, we've already had more than two million downloads on Fortnite. So that speaks to an engaged audience on Nintendo Switch as well as the core proposition of, I can now take it with me and play anywhere, anytime, with anyone, it's really resonated."
Some on the upside of the game launch on Nintendo Switch, players can directly use voice chat in the game via the Switch's headphone jack, instead of the Nintendo Switch mobile app. Nintendo Switch is also supporting cross-play with Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile versions.
This is like a thorn in the side for Sony when they announced that they will not be supporting cross-play with Nintendo Switch. The decision caused an outrage among the gamers.
The decision implied that the gamers could not play Fortnite on their Nintendo Switch from the same Epic Games account that they are registered from on PS4.
