Vuzix opens Developer Center That Offers Tips and Best Practices for Vuzix Blade Developers.

June 12, 2018, during an event in New York, Vuzix, the company best known for their smart glasses, AR technologies and other products has announced the opening of Vuzix Blade Smart Glasses Developer Center With this, the company aims to provide all the support and resources for their Blade smart glass developer community.

After registration, developers will get access to their knowledge base, FAQ’s, sample codes to properly use the blade API’s and utilize their programming interface for application development. Developers will get access to blade API’s and they can easily customize their code for the camera, sensors, microphone, photos and other features of blade environment.

"Vuzix Blade is unlike any other product ever created by Vuzix in terms of form factor and interest from the developer community. We are providing our partners with a library of information that will help enable them to unbox their Blade and begin developing applications in a matter of minutes," said Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vuzix. "The development center also allows developers to commence their development projects and experiment with or without a physical Blade unit. The Vuzix Blade Developer Center is set up to cater to developers with varying degrees of experience and provides the developer community with a comprehensive guide to develop applications, specifically for Vuzix Blade and enable new customer experiences."

Here are the details about what developers will receive from Blade Developer Center:

Getting to know Vuzix Blade: Developers will be introduced to technical specifications of Vuzix Blade, different methods of interacting with the blade hardware, and tips and best practices about designing the user interface for their Vuzix Blade Applications.

Getting Started Guide: This section contains a basic set of instructions to get started with application development, the creation of Vuzix Blade’s device profile in Android studio, how to create different user interfaces and develop applications.

Sample Blade Projects: This section provides access to different sample projects, by playing around them developers can learn how blade applications are created by using Android Studio. Instructions provided here are enough for most developers to get started with their own applications.

Developers will learn how to create action menus and home screen widgets for their applications; they will also be taught about cleaning up unnecessary project files that get created during application development.

Sample Code and Documentation: Developers get access to sample codes that can be exported and used in their own applications, sample codes for camera usage, touch events, battery status, gestures, and many other things are already made available. Developers can easily edit the code and customize them according to their own programming needs.

Heads-Up Display (HUD) Action Menu API and Resources: This section covers information about functionality, performance and other features of the Blade platform, and how developers can use their platform for best performance.
