The long-awaited Bullitt is almost here, and now we're finally getting a look at all the options and prices. Will it be worth the wait?

The wait is almost over — drivers will be able to get their hands on the new 2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt later this year. This release is the first time a car with the Bullitt name has appeared in the Ford rosters since 2009, and Mustang fans have been waiting for this for...well, a decade.

The Car

The Bullitt is one of the priciest Mustangs, costing roughly $3,500 more than the Mustang GT if you equip the GT with a Level Two performance package. It comes with the classic Ford 5.0L V8 engine, which generates 480 horsepower. Ford has also equipped the car with a cold air intake, 87-millimeter throttle bodies and ECU that's flashed and tuned for performance.

Of course, your only transmission option is a six-speed manual, which is how it should be — we're glad Ford wouldn't sully this muscle car with an automatic transmission.

For an additional cost, you can also equip your Bullitt with MagneRide active dampers and a massive electronic system with an upgraded navigation and audio system with blind spot monitoring and a convenient memory function for things like your driver's seat, side mirror position and interior lighting.

It also has upgraded brakes with six-piston Bembo calipers, a large radiator to help cool the massive engine and a limited-slip differential for optimum control, no matter what conditions you're driving in.

The Look

This Mustang will only be available as a fastback and comes equipped with Torq Thrust wheels in black, and you can order it in two colors — Highland Green and Shadow Black — with Highland Green being the original Steve McQueen color?

If you want another color, don't worry — you can easily get a wrap installed in any color you want that won't damage the paint or clear coat. In fact, a wrap will protect your clear coat and original paint job much better than any wax or other product.

If you want the interior to match the exterior, you can also opt for a set of sexy leather Recaro seats which feature green stitching.

The Options

The Bullitt isn't just coming to the United States. Ford Australia has confirmed they will deliver at least 700 of these cars to Australian Mustang fans, starting at $74,709, though it will only be available in Highland Green.

Ford will also deliver an undisclosed number to U.K. fans, again exclusively available in Highland Green. U.K. fans will be able to take home one of these fantastic Mustangs for £47,145.

Mustang lovers are awaiting the new Bullitt with bated breath, and they won't have long to wait — Ford is expected to start making deliveries sometime in September. If you want to get your hands on one of these, go talk to your dealer today — these models will be limited-edition. This release is the best thing they can do for the 50th anniversary of the iconic Steve McQueen movie of the same name.
