According to a report by The Information, Apple is on the verge to provide its users a single subscription plan to take over similar plans that are offered by the other tech giant that goes by the name of – Amazon.

When it comes to entertainment services, Apple is the first name that appears on everyone’s mind and the reasons are its services like iTunes, Apple Music, App store and Apple TV and the catch is – the tech giant seems to be on the hunt to expand its services by offering a single subscription service for all of its various products – just like Amazon.

According to a report by The Information, Apple is on the verge to provide its users a single subscription plan to take over similar plans that are offered by the other tech giant that goes by the name of – Amazon. For now, Apple’s subscription product line is offered via digital solutions like Apple Music, iCloud, Apple TV and the eagerly awaited original content offering. Apple seems to be lumping music in the near future to expand its offering by adding various products like an anticipated yet not disclosed news subscription service and original video content.

According to the report, Apple intends to monetize its growing share of entertainment offerings by offering a services bundle that will cover all of its services in a single package, for example, original news shows, TV series, and other video content developed by its global video department. Roughly, Apple is supposed to be spending billion dollars on the transformation.

The report provides more insights that suggest Apple’s very first step towards the offering will be the launch of a news subscription services that are expected to be launched next year. This offering will combine the Apple News app with a digital magazine distributor – Texture that it acquired in March this year. It offers unlimited access to various magazines via a single fee subscription. After running it successfully, Apple is thought to be combining the digital news subscription along with the Apple music subscription service and its homegrown video content. With these rumors speculating around, it is pretty early to say whether the tech giant will take over Amazon or not.
