New Smartphone Sensors will Check Temperature and Pressure of Living Owners for Extra Security

For those who are still reliant on fingerprint sensors in their smartphones, they may get new sensors in upcoming ones that will check the individualized signs of their alive owners.

These include in their purview both temperature and pressure. Thus this will doubly ensure that security remains on high alert. No one can have any means of accessing your smartphone.

The new sensor is basically designed for detecting living beings instead of some external indicator. This means that both temperature and thumb pressure which are uniquely human and individual to the owner will be gauged before opening the smartphone.

Samsung lies behind this whole thing. It has conducted a lot of research concerning this special sensor. The sensors that exist in smartphones at present are opaque in their capacity.

Thus they have to lie behind a bezel and underneath a home button. Also, they could lie at the rear end. Apple is the only company which has forgone this option by opting for a 3D depth sensing camera, according to CNet.

The new sensors will be something altogether different though. For one thing, they will be foolproof. The temperature and pressure will enable the ultimate form of customized identity authentication.

Furthermore, the standards that will be followed by these new sensors will be of the quality used by such top agencies as the FBI. These sensors will check temperature and pressure but they will not check your blood pressure or heart rate.

This new research recently got published in the journal Nature Communications.
