The Future Electric Cars that will Wow the Crowd of Vehicle Enthusiasts

Electric cars are all the rage right now and in the future, they will be even more popular. With a lean, green tomorrow on its way, future vehicles will switch over from fuel to electricity for the sake of the environment. Also with peak oil being a very real scenario soon, such a step is inevitable for humankind since we need new sources of renewable energy. There is a long list of electric cars that will be coming in the market soon. Among them are many models and types. Let's start with a few…

Audi PB 18 E-tron

The German company that goes by the name of Audi is ready to reveal a brand new EV supercar. This one bears the title Audi PB 18 e-tron. It will undergo its debut ceremony at the Pebble Beach Car Week event which will be held on August 23rd of this year. The Laguna Seca racetrack will be the testing ground for this speedster. The teaser picture shows a car with the motto “Emotion instead of emissions: powerful electric drive”. The PB in the title stands for “Pebble Beach”, the venue of the unveiling. This, by the way, is not the only time that Audi has manufactured an EV. Electric vehicles are something that Audi is familiar with.

The Audi R8 is an example of such an EV that was churned out of Audi’s factories in the past. This was titled the Audi e-tron. It was shown off to the world right before Tesla’s roadster lit up the stage that is the global village with its remarkable features. Audi sealed further sales drives of its e-tron EV about two years back. The price tag of this electric vehicle was a bit too steep for comfort. Now though, Audi is ready to show the world what it has got in the way of talent and skilled precision engineering. Seeking its inspiration from the Audi e-tron, the all-new Audi PB 18 e-tron will have a design inspired by the novel Audi Design Loft. The teaser image portrays an EV with a dense silhouette, huge wheel arches, slight LED headlights and an upfront backside spoiler.

It has a hybrid powertrain as well. This car is definitely futuristic in its scope. The super slicker of a vehicle is like Pontiac’s “Wider is Better” concept cars. At least it seems to be its leitmotif so far. The car appears to be inspired by the Le Mans racing muscle cars. It will be living up to the spirit of the racetrack if things go as per plan. Everybody is pretty excited about this car. The cockpit is like a prototype-y in its form and function. Those who are in love with performance will be infatuated with this car the very first time they lay hands on its steering wheel. The R8 has inspired this vehicle and its basic features remain within the subtext of the brand new Audi PB 18 e-tron.

Pininfarina's PF0 Electric Hypercar

The PFO is an electric hypercar that will arrive in the near future and it will be worth a cool $2 to $2.5 million. It is the answer to Elon Musk’s Tesla Motors with its EVs. While Musk is busy churning out his electric vehicles that wow the world of car enthusiasts, the Pininfarina Automobili Company is setting out for fresher pastures. This hot set of wheels is super-speedy, elite quality, one-of-a-kind and has a steep price tag as well. It will go on to sell in a limited number two years from now. Provided you can afford the dent in your wallet, this speedster can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2 seconds flat. Also, it has a topmost speed of 250 mph.

In between charging stops at stations, this vehicle can cover a whopping 310 miles of territory. It is a low-lying car with wheels that push outwards from their respective places. The PFO is an Italian beauty as the name Pininfarina illustrates so well. The CEO said that “We claim to be a startup, but with 88 years of history.” This car’s roots go back to the year 1930. Despite facing debt issues in the recent past, this is an automaker that has been literally reborn. It has pulled itself up by its bootstraps and risen from its ashes like the proverbial Phoenix.

The CEO spoke of how “We will become affordable, but we’ll still be a luxury brand.” He added,“Just like Rolex doesn’t sell plastic watches.” It will merely take 10 to 15 minutes for the battery of this car to be charged up to 80%. A two-seater, it has a carbon fiber exterior frame and polished sloping glass sheets that are a part of its makeup. Some of the main clientele for the company will come from Silicon Valley. Obviously, this in itself is dictated by the astronomical cost. This vehicle contains the latest and most advanced sort of technology. By the time the year 2025 arrives, it will have established itself as a role model for other companies.

Seldom has an automaker made such a resounding comeback and inspired the rich and famous with its gem-like products. To add to this the fact that its car will be environmentally friendly means that everything is good to go. This car definitely has a strong Italian flavor to it. The CEO added at the end as an afterthought that, “Above all, it needs to be a stunning, beautiful car.” Indeed, purity and beauty are the twin concepts upon which the PFO is based.
