Nerf enters the Laser Tag toy category with the Nerf Laser Ops Pro series.

The Laser Ops Pro line is Nerf's entry into the laser tag toy category. The Laser Ops Pro features Bluetooth and IR enabled guns that are connected to an app. Nerf launches with two Laser Ops Pro products officially in August, but you can buy the Nerf Laser Ops Pro AlphaPoint 2-Pack already now online and even with a discount.

Amazon offers the Nerf Laser Ops Pro AlphaPoint 2-Pack for $44.99, instead of $49.99 list. You can buy the Nerf Laser Ops Pro AlphaPoint 2-Pack for slightly less ($44.95) on

The big Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Blaster is not yet available online. The laser tag riffle is able to fire a 3-shot IR burst and has an LCD display showing ammo count and health. There is also a physical recoil action integrated on the Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Blaster. The Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Blaster will have an MSRP of $49.99.

The Nerf Laser Ops Pro AlphaPoint blaster 2-pack gives players everything they need to face off in head-to-head live-action laser battles right out of the box. This written big on the box. In reality, you have to first open the laser tag gun with a screwdriver and insert 4 AA batteries in each. Nerf means with out of the box, that you don't need the app for playing.

We received Laser Ops Pro AlphaPoint blasters and also the Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Blaster for review and I had already a lot of fun with my two sons in short distance combat in our flat.

AlphaPoint blasters fire a single-shot IR burst with each pull of the trigger and register hits with lights and sounds, while lights on the back display health status and ammo capacity. Designed with unlimited ammo, the blasters have a quick-reload button to replenish the supply.

With the Nerf Laser Ops Pro app, available for free in the app store, you get multiple play modes including single person AR games. You can select to face off in teams or in everyone fighting everyone.

Battlers can amp up their play via the Nerf Laser Ops app by using the included armband to wear a smartphone on their arm. Good thing you also have the option to play with a single phone, so you don't have to get an iPhone for every one of your kids.

On the app, you can access real-time battle intel that allows them to customize the blaster, track their performance, earn power-ups, and use GPS to locate opponents during battle.

I will publish a detailed review and videos of the new Nerf Laser Ops Pro AlphaPoint laser tag guns as well as the Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Blaster. What I can already reveal is that the Laser Ops Pro Deltaburst Blaster is superior to the AlphaPoint in a big way in short distance battles. It will be interesting how it performs in the outdoors. The Nerf Laser Ops Pro blasters have an outdoor and indoor mode.
