The 10 NES games that have been confirmed to be included in the Nintendo Switch Online Service

The Nintendo Switch Online Service is set to launch in the late half of September. After almost two years of successful running, Nintendo Switch has become one of the most popular gaming consoles in the world. The Nintendo eShop has offered one after another hit games including indie titles, older Nintendo classics and new games that are being developed for the Switch specifically.

Nintendo seems to have decided to put a retainer on the whole system of buying and playing games online. Nintendo has announced that they will be launching the Nintendo Switch Online Service. The service will be similar to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold. The Nintendo Switch users will have to subscribe to the service to play the games that will be updated to the service. They can make use of the various pricing packages in which the player will pay to get access to online gameplay.

With its launch, Nintendo Switch Online Service will be launching with 20 NES classic games that will be available for gameplay to the subscribers. Out of those 20 games, 10 games have already been confirmed. They are;

Ice Climber

Developed by Kazuaki Morita and Kenji Miki for Nintendo Entertainment System and released on January 30, 1985. The game features Ice Climbers Popo - a boy dressed in a blue Inuit parka and Nana - a girl dressed in a pink Inuit parka. They are the stars of the NES game Ice Climber. These two of them compete in climbing to the top of one of 32 different mountains. In their glory days, they pursued a condor who, peculiarly, had possession of cucumbers, eggplants, and various other vegetables.

The Legend of Zelda

Designers Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka designed an immersive high-fantasy action-adventure video-game series. The game has become one of the biggest franchises on Nintendo. Its presence among the Nintendo Switch Online Service affirms its position yet again as one of the strongest and best games that Nintendo can present to its players.

Balloon Fight

Originally released by 1984, and designed by Yoshio Sakamoto, the game is included as one of the games that are included in the lineup of NES games. The game features the players as a man floating with the help of balloons which he has to avert from popping and also survive the challenges in the game.

Ah…before we started playing in high definition in which the players seem as real as, in reality, there was Soccer on NES. The game which was released on April 9, 1985. It is simple, the graphics of the game will be retained for Nintendo Switch but there will definitely be some added features in the gameplay. The game has been announced by Nintendo to appear in the Nintendo Switch Online Service.

Much like Soccer and not very much like Tennis Aces, the game offers very simple game graphics and simple gameplay. Originally released on January 14, 1984, and designed by Shigeru Miyamoto. The game offers single as well as two player modes for gameplay. Tennis was one of 18 launch games for the NES.

Mario Bros.

Developed by Shigeru Miyamoto, the game was released in 1983 as one of the first games in the vastly popular Mario series. It was initially released for playing in arcades but since then we have seen the game come a long way. It would still be interesting to play the game in its original format with Joy-Cons.

Super Mario Bros.

The first comprehensive game designed by Shigeru Miyamoto and Takashi Tezuka and released in 1985. The game was the proper platform game in which the gamers were able to play as our favorite plumber brother, Mario, and Luigi. The game remains the best-selling Nintendo Entertainment System video game by sales.

Dr. Mario

Oh, the colorful pills and assembling them properly to kill the viruses…brings back so many memories. The game was released by Nintendo on the NES in 1990. It is an action puzzle video game produced by Gunpei Yokoi and designed by Takahiro Harada. Dr. Mario is the seventh-best-selling Nintendo Entertainment System video game by sales.

Super Mario Bros. 3

The third installment of the Super Mario Bros. franchise was released in 1990. It is a platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was released on October 23, 1988. Super Mario Bros. 3 is the third-best-selling Nintendo Entertainment System video game by sales.

Donkey Kong

The first installment of our favorite monkey game, Donkey Kong. Developed by Nintendo, Atari, Nintendo Research & Development 1, and Sentient Software for Nintendo Entertainment System. It is an arcade game released by Nintendo in 1981. The gameplay focuses on maneuvering the main character across a series of platforms while dodging and jumping over obstacles.

Although these games may not seem very attractive to a large number of gamers. They offer a tinge of nostalgia to a lot of Nintendo fans. They also offer a good time pass for gamers as they figure out what kind of package they want to decide on for the Nintendo Switch Online Service. The other ten games will be confirmed by Nintendo as well. There is still about a month that remains before the system will be launched by Nintendo.
