Anki's Vector Robot is Most Funded Robotic Project of All Time on Kickstarter

Over 6,000 backers raised more than $1.4m for the Vector home robot.

There are still 7 days to go in the Vector by Anki Kickstarter campaign, but the robot maker already has broken an all-time record on Kickstarter. The little AI packed companion robot Vector raised $1.4 million from over 6,000 backers on Kickstarter. It's the highest funded robotic project on Kickstarter and the third most funded tech project overall.

Vector is a robot who’s alive with personality, highly-intelligent, and aware of his surroundings through touch, sight, and sound. Unassertive and thoughtfully built, he is designed to fit naturally into your daily life as well as any space in your home, with minimal maintenance. Vector isn’t an appliance sitting in the corner waiting for you to flip a switch; he is an extension of your family who is excited for you to walk in the door each day. Vector is designed to complement your life. And because he’s cloud-connected and able to self-update, he’s always getting smarter and adding new features. Under that polished exterior, he’s also chock-full of robotics and A.I. tech.

Anki launched the Kickstarter for Vector, its next-generation Cozmo robot, earlier in August. The robot sells for $199 on Kickstarter and will ship in October. Vector by Anki will be a hot holiday 2018 gift for sure. It's the most advanced companion robot on the market. I still believe that Anki should have given Vector a new design. I'm not connecting with the look we know from Cozmo.
