Nintendo SNES Classic and NES Classic Bundle is Last Hurrah

Is this the end of the Nintendo Classic series?

Nintendo releases on Friday, September 15 a Nintendo SNES Classic and NES Classic Bundle in Japan. The box contains the Japanese Famicom Classic and the Super Famicom Classic for the price slightly less than buying the classic consoles individually. Amazon Japan has even a sales price on the pre-order for the Nintendo SNES Classic and NES Classic Bundle with 14,381 Yen (~$130).

Amazon also offers a limited edition Nintendo Classic Mini Double Pack that comes with two books and a poster. The limited edition sells for 15,077 Yen on The bundle of the Nintendo NES Classic and SNES Classic could mean that Nintendo is done with the retro trend and now fully focuses on the Nintendo Switch and mobile gaming.

The $79.99 Super NES Classic and $59.99 NES Classic are in stock in most stores. Nintendo was finally able to satisfy the demand over the summer as the market got now fully saturated. You can pick up both Nintendo Classic consoles online at

If Nintendo will bring the Nintendo Classic Mini Double Pack to other markets is not known. It could happen, but then I don't think it makes much sense for Nintendo do it as the hype around the SNES Classic and NES Classic has died.
