Insignia Fire TV Edition 4K HDR Smart TVs Launch on Amazon

The promised Insignia Fire TV Edition Smart TVs are in stock now.

Right on the heels of the release of the affordable HD Toshiba Fire TV Edition Smart TVs comes the launch of Insignia brand Fire TV Edition Smart Televisions. Best Buy's private label brand is now offering Amazon's Fire TV Edition powered smart TVs starting at $329.99 (43-inch).

The new Insignia Fire TV Edition smart televisions are available with 4K Ultra HD resolution, which deliver brilliant picture quality that is up to four times sharper than HDTV, and are available in three sizes: 43-inch (NS-43DF710NA19) for $329.99, 50-inch (NS-50DF710NA19) for $379.99, and 55-inch (NS-55DF710NA19) for $449.99 on amazon.com.

The new Insignia Fire TV Edition televisions sport the same experience that seamlessly integrates live, over-the-air TV and all your streaming channels on one, easy-to-view home screen (HD antenna required). Consumers can enjoy access to tens of thousands of channels, apps, and Alexa skills and the ability to use the Voice Remote with Alexa to search for titles, launch apps, play music, control other smart home devices, and more. So why should you pick an Insignia Fire TV Edition over a Toshiba Fire TV Edition?

At this point, we don't see any reason as the all-new Insignia Fire TV Edition 4K Smart TVs are more expensive than the Toshiba Fire TV Edition TVs. There is no obvious technical advantage to be found in the Insignia brand smart TVs that would rectify the $30 or $20 more than you would need to pay for an Insignia on amazon.com.

We expect Best Buy to cut the prices of the new Insignia Fire TVs in time for Black Friday 2018 significantly to make them more attractive than the Toshiba brand Fire TV Edition. The overall winner from the introduction of the Insignia Fire TVs is Amazon. Jeff Bezos' giant retailer will expand its smart TV market share dramatically this Holiday shopping season.
