Cyber Monday 2018: Date, Deals, and Sales

Here is everything you need to know about Cyber Monday 2018.

Cyber Monday has lost its unique selling point over the past years as Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday are rising fast in online sales. Last year Amazon coined the term "Turkey 5" to describe the 5 big online sales days starting on Thanksgiving Day and ending with Cyber Monday. For shoppers, this means that Cyber Monday is just another big online sales day to score deals.

What doesn't make sense is to wait for Cyber Monday sales and not shop the online Black Friday sales taking place mainly in the four days before Cyber Monday. The deals will not get better on Cyber Monday. They either are the same or even worse than on Black Friday. Cyber Monday is still larger than the online sales on Black Friday, but the difference last year was only $1.5 billion. Combining the Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday than Cyber Monday's sales volume is lower than those of Black Friday sales.

The bestsellers on Cyber Monday last include the Nintendo Switch, PJ Masks and Hatchimals & Colleggtibles figurines, Apple AirPods, streaming devices like Google Chromecast and Roku, and Super Mario Odyssey. This year the Nintendo Switch will be again in the top sellers as the first significant deals are expected on the new Holiday Nintendo Switch bundles. Cyber Monday toy deals will continue to big push of major retailers to capture the toy sales left behind by defunct ToysRUs.

Shopping on mobile is likely passing the 50% mark on Cyber Monday 2018. It was at 47% last year. Often the shopping apps of retailers work better than their online shops during the high traffic times. Shopping on mobile can make a big difference in scoring the best cyber deals.

The best Cyber Monday sale is at followed by Walmart, Best Buy, Target and Dell. Amazon's Cyber Monday deals included last year a $179.99 40-inch 1080p Smart TV, $224.99 55-inch 4K UHD TV, $329.99 49-inch Premium brand 4K UHD Smart TV, $239.99 43-inch TCL 1080p Smart TV, and $279.99 49-inch TCL 1080p Smart TV. A Sony 55-inch 4K UHD smart TV will be only $598. Amazon also offered up to 60% on games, including Call of Duty: WWII, Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, Injustice 2, and Overwatch. In additional all Black Friday deals on Amazon devices were also available on Cyber Monday.

Most Cyber Monday 2018 deals will be announced right after Black Friday. Cyber Monday sales events kick off already on Sunday ahead of the actual Cyber Monday. This is important to keep in mind if you want to get your hands on the best Cyber Monday deals.

The Black Friday 2018 deal hunting begins on November 1 and will last through the whole month. Some of the best deals will be available before the five big sales days starting on Thanksgiving Day and ending on Cyber Monday. Early Black Friday sales not be missed including the Sam's Club November 10 One Day Holiday Sales event.
