Amazon Black Friday 2018 Ad Is Passive-Aggressive

The Amazon Black Friday 2018 deals list is not targeting the competition.

In past years, Amazon always announced Black Friday deals that were obvious matches of doorbuster deals advertised by competing stores including Target, Walmart and Best Buy. This year there is not a single deal that attacks directly a rival retailer. The Amazon Black Friday 2018 deals list is comprised of mostly deals on Amazon's own devices. There are only a few additional individual deals on products. Most other deals in the list are discounts on brands or product categories.

The number of deals and sales is overwhelming. In that sense the Amazon Black Friday 2018 ad is passive-aggressive. Instead of singling out individual Black Friday deals of competitors, Amazon basically says everything is going to be on sale, making Amazon the biggest Black Friday sale.

There is a chance that Amazon is releasing matching doorbuster deals on Thanksgiving Day that is not announced. In case they do, it will be very hard to spot them unless Amazon is scheduling them in upcoming deals ahead of release.

The Amazon Black Friday Deals Week 2018 is already underway since Friday, Nov. 16. Today's deals feature big savings on the Anki robots.
