The PlayStation Classic ships Dec. 3.

Sony PlayStation Classic release is today, Dec. 3. Sony announced the $99.99 PlayStation Classic on September 20. Many popular games are missing and the reviews of the PlayStation Classic that got published in the past days are also not glowing. The hype Nintendo created around retro gaming with the NES Classic also has slowed. Why play retro-games if there are so many new 2018 games to play? If despite all of that the PlayStation Classic is still becoming a hot Holiday 2018 gift remains to be seen.

The Sony PlayStation Classic Edition Console was available for pre-order until today at Best Buy and GameStop. Only Walmart, Amazon and Target had sold out of their pre-order inventory after some time. The PlayStation Classic is in stock now at Walmart and Target. Both show a ready-to-ship inventory of the PlayStation Classic. Update: The PlayStation Classic is in stock at
