CES 2019: Schaeffler 4ePerformance 1,200hp Concept Car will be on Display

The CES 2019 will be again also a car show.

German car parts supply giant Schaeffler will show off electric car technology at the CES 2019. The centerpiece will be the Schaeffler 4ePerformance Concept Car with 1,200hp.

The fully-electric vehicle is powered by four Formula E motors with a total power output of 880 kW (1,200 PS) that come from the ABT Schaeffler FE01 Formula E racing car. All four motors were used for the full second Formula E season. For Schaeffler, the electric racing series is an ideal test laboratory for the development of electric mobility technologies and ideally fits the company's "Mobility for tomorrow" strategy with which the globally active technology group helps shape the future of mobility.

Schaeffler 4ePerformance Concept Car Highlights

At CES 2019, Schaeffer will also showcase a hybrid module enabling OEMs to electrify the pick-up trucks that enjoy particular popularity in the U.S. marketplace. The compact P2 hybrid module fits between the IC engine and the transmission which makes it suitable for integration into existing vehicle concepts as well. It enables both a boost function and "coasting" with the IC engine shut off as well as all-electric driving.

By 2020, Schaeffler will have invested more than 500 million euros in research, development, and production of electric drive units.

With more than 92,000 employees, Schaeffler is one of the world's largest family companies and, with approximately 170 locations in over 50 countries, has a worldwide network of manufacturing locations, research and development facilities, and sales companies.

CES 2019 will run January 8-11, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show is the world’s largest and most influential technology event, featuring 4,500 exhibitors across 2.75 million net square feet of exhibit space. The hottest trends of CES 2019 include 5G connectivity, artificial intelligence, augmented and virtual reality, mobility, smart home, smart cities, sports tech, machine learning and more.
