CES 2019: MSI Unveils Oculux NXG251R Esports Gaming Monitor with G-Sync

MSI to showcase Oculux NXG251R Gaming Display at CES 2019.

The first CES 2019 announcements are rolling in. While LG makes beer at CES, MSI sticks to their existing product categories. MSI announced their newest gaming monitor designed for esports athletes, the Oculux NXG251R. With professional esports features, including a tournament-standard 24.5-inch monitor, NVIDIA G-Sync technology to prevent screen tearing, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response time, the Oculux NXG251R is aimed at professional and gaming enthusiasts.

The MSI Oculux NXG251R sports a 24.5-inch Full HD gaming monitor with TN panel and an industry-leading 240Hz refresh rate, which is the highest in the industry and provides a smooth and no-latency gaming experience, particularly good for fast-moving games. Together with NVIDIA G-Sync technology, the MSI Oculux NXG251R pumps out smooth and tear-free visuals during gameplay with superior responsiveness for a crisp experience regardless of the type of game.

For gamers looking for the ultimate immersive experience, the Oculux’s frameless design seamlessly blends into a multi-monitor setup, eliminating edges that disrupt the image flow. Its incredibly narrow bezel allows for better continuity between screens while playing games, working or even general computing.

“The Oculux NXG251R is the pinnacle of esports monitor performance,” said Charles Chiang, General Manager of Desktop Platform Solutions at MSI. “Whether you’re an esports professional, playing in your local tournament or just practicing at home, the Oculux will help gamers perform to their highest potential.”

The monitor features MSI’s exclusive Mystic Light RGB lighting, allowing users to choose from more than 16.8 million colors for a completely personalized experience. The back panel also features three USB 3.1 ports on the side for easy and universal connectivity

The Oculux NXG251R comes with a suite of features to decrease eye fatigue, including MSI’s Anti-Flicker and low blue light technologies. MSI’s Anti-Flicker technology provides a more comfortable viewing experience by reducing the amount of flickers, unnoticeable to the naked eye but can cause fatigue after extended use. MSI gaming monitors are also optimized to reduce eye strain by lowering the amount of blue light emitted, ensuring that gamers can play for an extended period of time.

Pricing and the release date of the Oculux NXG251R gaming monitor have not been disclosed yet.

CES 2019 will run January 8-11, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show is the world’s largest and most influential technology event, featuring 4,500 exhibitors across 2.75 million net square feet of exhibit space.
