LG Rollable Smartphone Patent Surfaces ahead of CES 2019

LG receives a patent for a rollable smartphone.

LG already introduced a rollable OLED TV. A rollable smartphone could be next. A patent shows off a smartphone design that features a screen that can be pulled out in different width to accommodate various applications.

When the screen is wrapped up, the LG device appears to be very compact for transport. One side features a small screen for notifications and houses the camera. LetsGoDigital features more schemas of the LG rollable smartphone.

How far LG is with this versatile mobile device is not clear. LG has registered trademarks for LG Flexi, LG Foldi and LG Duplex in November. The rollable LG OLED TV is expected to go on sale in 2019. So we know that LG can commercialize rollable OLED devices. A rollable smartphone could already be in a prototype state that can be shown at the CES.
