LG Z9 8K OLED TV with 88-inch Screen Debuts at CES 2019

The LG Z9 Is LG's first 8K OLED TV.

LG brings its first 8K OLED TV to the market in 2019. The 88-inch LG Z9 8K OLED TV will debut at the CES 2019. LG has shown a prototype of its 8K OLED TV in 2018. The new LG Z9 will be one of the stars at the CES 2019, but 8K TVs will not be relevant for consumers for years to come.

The new LG Z9, will be running on the new alpha9 Gen 2 CPU like the other top of the line new 2019 4K OLED TVs. The LG Z9 will also feature the new HDM1 2.1 port, allowing high frame rate (HFR). The result is smoother and clearer motion at 120 frames per second for better rendering of fast-action content such as sports and action movies. Support for enhanced audio return channel (eARC) enables home theater enthusiasts to seamlessly utilize HDMI connectivity and enjoy the highest quality audio formats available with superb detail and depth.

LG's giant Z9 8K OLED TV boasts a resolution of 7,680x4,320px (33,117,600 pixels). This is 16 times more than a 4K panel. TV manufacturers promise to generate a better picture on their 8K TVs for 4K content. If this argument will convince buyers remains to be seen. There are always early adopters with deep pockets that want the latest tech no matter what.

The 88-inch 8K OLED TV is going to be one of the most expensive TVs to buy in 2019. As a reference, the 77-inch LG W8 4K OLED TV has a price tag of $14,999.

The CES 2019 will take place January 8-11, 2019, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show is the world’s largest and most influential technology event, featuring 4,500 exhibitors across 2.75 million net square feet of exhibit space.
