Samsung Galaxy Fold Unveiled

7.3-inch screen, 6 cameras and more.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold has arrived. Samsung took the wraps off its new technological achievement. The first Samsung folding smartphone is no compromise. The South Korean tech giant packed tons of technology in the Galaxy Fold.

The Galaxy Fold features the world’s first 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display, which folds into a compact device with a cover display. The internal screen does not merely bend. It folds. Folding is a more intuitive motion, and a more difficult innovation to deliver. Samsung invented a new polymer layer and created a display around 50 percent thinner than the typical smartphone display. The new material makes Galaxy Fold flexible and tough, built to last.

Samsung engineered a sophisticated hinge with multiple interlocking gears. This system is housed in a hidden enclosure for a seamless and elegant look.

The possibilities are virtually endless with Galaxy Fold – designed for the ultimate multitasker. You can open up to three active apps simultaneously on the main display so you can surf, text, work, watch and share without losing a beat. Make intuitive, seamless transitions between the cover and the main displays. As Galaxy Fold opens and closes, apps will automatically show up where you leave off.

Samsung packed a 7nm 64-bit Octa-core processor with 12GB and 512GB storage into the Fold for PC-like performance on Android Pie (9.0). The two batteries deliver 4,380mAh power and of course, the Fold supports wireless charging.

The Fold has the same triple camera system on the rear as the S10. Additionally, there are two front cameras and another one on the cover.

Samsung will release the Galaxy Fold in the second quarter of 2019. In the US the Galaxy Fold will launch on April 26 with AT&T and T-Mobile. The price is $1,980 - hey, you basically get two phones...
